If you have a favorite piece of art but you are not sure on how you want to display it in your home, then you have a couple of options to choose from. You don't have to settle with simply hanging the piece of artwork on the wall as you can choose from one of these creative ways to display art instead.
Use Ribbon to Hang Art on the Wall

Instead of simply putting a nail in the wall and hanging the piece of art that way, you can use a ribbon to hang the art from the wall. The ribbon adds to the art and should compliment it well.
Use a hook or screw in the back of the art piece and hang ribbon in the middle of the piece or from both sides. Place a hook on the wall to hang it from or use a small nail to hang the ribbon from. Be sure that the artwork hangs evenly if you are using more than one ribbon to hang it by.
Place Artwork on a Decorative Shelf
Use a decorative shelf to display art in your home. You can find all types of decorative shelves and ledges that will add to the beauty of the piece of art. Be sure that the size of the shelf is appropriate to the size of the piece. You can also choose to display a collection of art on the shelf instead of just one piece. Always ensure that the shelf or ledge is properly installed on the wall before placing any artwork on it.
Use a Fireplace Mantle to Display Art
If you have a nice fireplace mantel in your home, then why not draw even more attention to it by placing a piece of artwork on it. Instead of hanging the artwork above the mantle, place the piece on the mantle and up against the wall.
The artwork should be smaller than the mantle but not too small that you don't even really see the art with the large mantle. If you need to, place two or three smaller pieces of art on the mantle for a unique look instead of the one small one. Be sure that the piece of art is secure and will not fall down off the mantle.
Find Unique Hangers for the Art
You can use several different things to hang artwork on the wall that you may have never even thought to use. If you have a favorite stocking holder, you can nail it to the wall and have it hold your favorite piece of art. Another unique artwork hanger is rope or chain that hangs from the ceiling or the top of the wall. This rope or chain can actually have a few pieces hung from it either vertically or horizontally depending on the length of the wall. You can create something like a clothes line for your pieces of art across a blank wall.
